Uttar Pradesh has made it mandatory for vehicles operating in the state to use Radio Frequency Indentification Device( RFID) to for tagging the E way bill from November First. Uttar Pradesh Commercial Tax Department has issued Notification No E Way Bill RFID/ Sachaldal/2018-19/1025/ Commercial Tax dated 12.09.2018 to this effect. E Way bills provide for use of RFID, but no state has made it mandatory till date
Notification states that " Before transportation of such goods in the terrritory of Uttar Pradesh, vehicles shall obtain an RFID tag and get the said tag embedded on the windscreen of the conveyance carrying such goods and get it mapped ot the e way bill system"
